Richard has a rich history of experience in sustainable development. This includes being the founder of Cottage Industries, a large forestry cooperative that planted more than 27,000,000 trees over 18 years. He also has been the Executive Director of the Potomac Conservancy, a land trust that protected the Potomac River in the Washington DC and Virginia area. Here in Fort Collins, in 1998 he cofounded the non-profit organization, Trees, Water & People (TWP), which develops and manages reforestation, renewable energy and sustainable building projects in 5 countries and with more than 40 Native American Tribes. Over his 19 years at TWP, he managed their National Program and eventually became their Executive Director. Today his focus is on helping northern Colorado become more sustainable at many levels and supporting Native American water protector camps with their renewable energy needs.
