Ready to Take Action?

The Sustainable Living Association coordinates a Youth Climate Leadership Team, and we are always looking for more youth to join! This is a great opportunity for young people to grow their leadership skills, connect with sustainability and environmental organizations in Fort Collins and beyond, and participate in hands-on climate action.

Make a Move and Engage with your Community

By joining the Youth Climate Leadership Team, you will:

  • Help plan youth climate events, such as the Youth Climate Action Day and youth climate summits at UNC and CSU.
  • Get access to the Leadership GroupMe, where you can hear about different volunteering opportunities and connect with other youth leaders!
  • Connect with sustainability and environmental networks for career and internship opportunities.
  • Learn leadership, event planning and community outreach skills.
  • Be supported in creating your own Climate Action Plan, which can be used for the Seal of Climate Literacy, Youth Climate Institute, volunteering hours and work-based learning.
  • Get hands-on experience volunteering with local organizations in an array of environmental fields.

Your Actions Make a Difference

Make a move to lead the charge

This is a great opportunity for all youth in high school and college! If you would like to join, please email us and we can see if it would be a good fit for you.

Youth Leaders do not have to participate in every event or opportunity, but it is strongly encouraged to attend as many events, planning meetings and volunteering opportunities as you can. We want to be flexible with busy schedules while also developing a strong team. Please let us know if you have a demanding schedule but still would like to participate, and we can accommodate you.
